Duncombe Park Gardens and Parklands are a seasonal attraction found close to Helmsley in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The gardens which open from Easter to the end of August comprise of over 35 acres of 18th Century green garden. Features with the gardens including the Doric Temple, The Ionic Temple and the Coservatory. At various places there are sweeping views extending across to the adjoining moorland.
The parkland offers a wide range of walking trails and options, over half of the area is a designated nature reserve managed by English Nature. The mature hardwood trees are home to a large number of scarce wood-feeding beetles and the birds which feed on them. There are waymarked walks, discovery trails and orienteering courses for all ages which explore the woodlands, river valley, meadows, woodland skyline and commercial forestry.
