Thorp Perrow Arboretum, Animal and Bird Centre.
Situated in the Yorkshire Dales, near historic Bedale, the 85 acre Thorp Perrow Arboretum is also the site of a Bird of Prey and mammal centre. The arboretum is home to a wide variety of trees and shrubs including some rare species. The tree and nature trails will lead you around the grounds and gardens and highlight points of interest. During many school holidays there are also child friendly shorter trails as extra activities.
The on site is a bird of prey centre has daily flying demonstrations and a chance to meet the birds. The birds are from across 5 continents and include eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures and owls. Hawk walks and courses are also available at extra cost. The mammal centre is home to meerkats, goats, ferrets, llama, wallabies and more. There are ranger talks, feeding opportunities and walk through enclosures.

The Arboretum is accessible to wheelchairs. Disabled toilets are available at the tearoom and the Bird Centre. Electric wheelchairs are available (at a charge of £1) but must be pre-booked.
