Bolton Abbey is in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales on the banks of the River Wharfe. With just under 30,000 acres of beautiful countryside, over 80 miles of footpaths and ample space to run around and enjoy the fresh air, there is something for all ages.

The historic Bolton Abbey sits perched above a bend in the river Wharfe, wander around the abbey, including the Church. Sit and enjoy the views, be brave and cross the stepping stones or just enjoy the big open space.

The Strid Woods are full of way marked trails and walks, during school holidays fun trails run along the easy access path from the Cavendish Pavilion to the Strid.

With a bech to play on, the welly walk adventure trail and vast open spaces to run around in, Bolton Abbey is an ideal family destination.

Entry to Bolton Abbey is FREE*
*Parking in the Bolton Abbey car park is £8.00 per car, £4.00 per motorbike, Groups of 12 or more £1 per person, coach & driver free.

Jan1st to March 13th 9am to 6pm (last entry 4pm)
March 14th to May 31st 9am to 7pm (last entry 5:30pm)
1st June to 31st August 9am to 9pm (last entry 6pm)
1st Sept to Oct 23rd 9am to 7pm (last entry 5:30pm)
23rd Oct to Mar 13th 9am to 6pm (last entry 4pm)

Strid Car Park:

All year: 9.30am – 4.00pm (or earlier/later at the Estate’s discretion.)
