Sheffield Botanical Gardens
The Sheffield Botanical Garden provides an oasis in the city. Covering 19 acres the botanical gardens have fifteen different distinct areas featuring collections of plants from all over the world, including some national collections. Within the grounds are several listed buildings including the fully restored including the the Glass pavilions.
Areas with the gardens include the Fours Seasons gardens, which offers a continually changing display around the year. The Pavilions display plants from more temperate regions around the world. The Victorian garden is a heritage garden with authentic Victorian planting. There are traditional herbaceous borders, the Marnck garden of tender climbers and scented plants. Even an Evolution garden which demosntrates the evolution of plants and contain many ancient varieties.
The Sheffield Botanical Gardens are excellent to visit at any time of year with certain areas being predominant i wutumn and winter when others are dormant.
Visiting The Sheffield Botanical Gardens
The gardens are usually open fro 08:00 to 16:00 on winter weekdays, on weekends the gardens open slightly later at 10:00.
In summer the opening hours remain the same but the garden stays open until dusk or 19:45
The Botanical Gardens are free to enter. Special events in the gardens may be charged.

Art In The Gardens
3rd & 4th September
Art in the Gardens is an annual event in a beautiful venue. Sheffield Botanical Gardens are transformed into an art and craft village, where you can wander round and enjoy (and purchase) all the fine exhibits on display. The whole family can enjoy a day out as there are fun activities to encourage children to enjoy ‘art and the environment’.
