Old Moor RSPB Dearne Valley Nature Reserve

Located in the Dearne Valley RSPB Old Moor is a 250 acre oasis for wildlife. Primarily a wetland area the reserve is home to Kingfisher, bittern and during the winter, several thousand Golden Plover.

Accessible footpaths meander alongside streams, the wetlands and through wild flower meadows, with hides and screens dotted on route. The family hide provides a dry space to rest, watch the birds or take art in activities. Pond dipping kits and wildlife discovery backpacks are all available to hire from the gift shop. The reserve also have an active events programme with many family based activities, as well as binocular days and star gazing.

With a great many seasonal species visiting the reserve for summer or winter Old Moor offers a year round destination to visit. Just be such to wear weather appropriate clothing!

09:30 to 16:00 November to January
Open 7 days per week, except over Christmas
