Potteric Carr Nature Reserve

Potteric Carr Nature Reserve is the flagship reserve of the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. The reserve is over 200 hectares and has over 8km of walking trails, many of which are accessible by wheelchair and with pushchairs. There are several way marked trails with points of interest and viewing hides along the way. The trails range from under 1 km to 8 km and can be combined to make even longer walks. Combining all the trails allows you cover almost the entire reserve.

The reserve has highlights year round, with bitterns wintering in the reserve, over 28 species of butterfly spotted in the summer months and over 70 species of birds which breed in the reserve.

On weekends and during the school holidays there are a host of child friendly activities to entertain and educate younger visitors.
