The Hepworth - Wakefield

This purpose built gallery has ten gallery spaces making it one of the largest purpose built galleries in the UK. The building, which has won several architectural awards, and sits in a prominent position on the banks of the River Clder in Wakefield.

Six of the galleries are dedicated to Wakefield's collection of modern British art; including works by Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. The remaining galleries house touring exhibits, from local and international artists.

The Hepworth has an active programme of talks and workshops, and an events programme which is inclusive, particularly for families.

Admission is FREE

10am - 5pm  Tuesday - Sunday
Closed Mondays except school holiday and bank holiday Mondays
10am - 3pm Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve
Closed Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Accessibility

The Hepworth Wakefield is fully accessible to wheelchair users, scooters and pushchairs and has ramp access to all areas. There are disabled toilet facilities, designated parking for blue badge holders and a lift to the upstairs galleries.

Two wheelchairs are available for visitors, booking in advance is reccommended.
Portable stools are available on request if required in the galleries.
