Eureka - National Children's Museum

Perhaps the ultimate hands-on and interactive museum, the Eureka National Children's Museum in Halifax offers a great play day out for all the family.

Specifically aimed at children aged 0 -11 the Museum is packed with fun multi sensory exhibit to help children play and learn. Galleries include:
All About Me: recently completely rebuilt with all new exhibits to get little people thinking about how their bodies work and what they can do.
Living & Working Together: based around a mini town square allows children to explore jobs and working in banks, shops and more. Or head intot he house to see how the home works from the flush of the toilet to cooking in the kitchen.
Soundspace Gallery: is a magical, futuristic theatre which encourages children to discover the science of sound and music.
Sound Garden & Desert Discovery: are discovery & play area for under 5's.
Global Garden: find gardens from all around the world, from as far apart as the jungle and the arctic.
Wonder Walk: is an outdoor sensory trail, also outsize is a giant sand pit and a wide variety of play equipment.

Essential carers visit
A FREE extra pair of hands, a bookabale service which will provide you with your own staff helper suring your visit to be an exta pair of hands.
Helping Hands Saturday and Holiday Club.
A guide to download to help prepare for your visit, especially for visitors with autism and other conditions may be hyper sensitive to sensory input.
For visitors with visual impairments there are a range of multi sensory exhibits, and leaflets are available in braille and large print.

Superhero Weekend

20th & 21st September
Heroes will be running regular Superhero Training sessions and recruiting super-powered allies (aka. our visitors!) to help them defeat an enigmatic supervillain. Plus a chance to meet and have a picture with Iron Man.
