Merchant Adventurers Hall
The Merchant Adventurers Hall is a medieval Guildhall in the centre of York. The ancient building is set in beautifully landscaped gardens in the City Centre. The timber framed building is Grade one listed and is a scheduled ancient monument. It is open to the public to explore; the Great Hall as a place of business and feasting, the undercroft was for tending the poor and sick and the chapel for spiritual worship. There are remarkable collections of silver, paintings and furniture.
