Yorkshire Goes To the Seaside! A fantastic programme around this year’s chosen theme of movement, featuring music, theatre, arts, dance and entertainment for children. Over 100 events, 80 of them free over 3 action-packed days, head to Scarborough for some winter seaside fun.
Ryedale Jazz Festival
23rd to 29th July
Ryedale Jazz is back for another year with a series of concerts mainly based in Pickering
11th to 20th August
Knaresborough’s annual Festival of Entertainment and Visual Arts. A wonderful array of shows and events, from street theatre and open air concerts, to live music and the art trail.
Great North Art Show
2nd to 24th September
The GREAT NORTH ART SHOW is a vibrant open exhibition established in 2001 to promote the quality and diversity of contemporary art in the Northwith thousands of visitors annually from home and abroad
It is an exciting opportunity to enjoy a broad range of quality art by established and emerging artists, set against the magnificent backdrop of Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire; definitely not to be missed.
Ripon International Festival
2nd to 22nd September
A world-class celebration of great orchestras, chamber and folk concerts, recitals, drama, literature and beautiful puppetry in magnificent Ripon Cathedral, the Royal Hall - Harrogate’s “Palace of Gold”, Markenfield Hall – unique moated medieval manor and ancient village churches. Join us in September to experience the festival’s distinctive atmosphere and outstanding performances.
Harrogate Autumn Flower Show
15th to 17th September
Featuring beautiful show gardens, stunning plant nursery displays, live expert demonstrations and great garden shopping, it offers everything you need to plan and perfect your outdoor space.
Our famous giant vegetable competition is set to wow visitors as colossal carrots, monster marrows and podgy parsnips weigh in for the battle of the bulge.
27th to 29th March
Hosted at the Crown Hotel in Harrogate, this Harrogate Round Table fundraiser promises fun-filled evenings of real ale, many from local breweries, and live music all for a good cause!
18th to 24th April
The HIYF brings together international youth bands and school performance groups to perform with the very best talent from the local area, ensuring international excellence and creativity at a variety of venues in and near Harrogate.
24th to 27th April
With live garden theatre, show gardens, cookery demonstrations, have a go fun, kids activities, experts and a wide range of garden, gift and kitchen goodies available, the flower show is fun for anyone with a plant.
3rd to 5th May
Centred around the Canal Basin and promenade the Skipton Waterways Festival is a family friendly event with stalls, crafts, rides and live entertainment. The theme for this years festival...cycling!!
3rd to 5th May
Sampling local produce and food in the Food Hall, watching cookery and farming demonstrations, listen to bands and generally having a good time. The Dales Festival of food and drink is a great family event and showcase of local produce and suppliers.
6th to 8th June
Go for the afternoon or the full weekend of swinging 60's hits including bands from the era.
22nd to 24th May
Over 80 ales sourced from around the country with an emphasis on local beers, selection of local wines, plus traditional ciders and perries all served at the Skipton Town Hall.
24th & 25th May
Malton's annual celebration of Yorkshire produce and cookery, with a varied and packed programme including celebrity chefs, cooking demonstrations, delicious street food, over 160 market stalls of local produce, family entertainment, tastings, talks and to wash it all down a beer, champagne and cider festival!
24th to 26th May
Celebrate Ingleborough and Ingleton above and below ground, with demonstrations by the experts, have a go sessions for all ages, family fun and walks and talks.
25th & 26th May
2014 sees the introduction of a Show Jumping competition and Junior Gun dog test championships as well as new arena displays. Not forgetting our old favourites like the fabulous Field Kitchen and Devoted to Dogs section which have again expanded. Held at Newby Hall, Ripon.
27th & 28th May
An opportunity to experience all the countryside has to offer – from all the country sports with loads of have-a-go opportunities, to fine foods and animals – all this and lots more not just for the country sports enthusiast but all of the family to enjoy throughout the weekend.

Find out what happens behind the scenes when over 100 North Yorkshire artists, including painters, potters, silversmiths and sculptors, open up their studios this June. The event brings together artists working in many different styles and materials, all keen to reveal the imagination and hard graft behind each piece of art.

Celebrating the tradition of English step dance, Clogfest comes to Skipton town centre with a series of performances and workshops.
18th to 21st July
The popular festival returns to Harrogate for a 10th year with a special guest appearance by J. K. Rowling, and special guests including Ann Cleeves, Sophie Hannah, John Harvey, Lynda LaPlante and Laura Lippman to name just a few.
25th to 27th July
A host of family fun based around Scarborough's maritime history, events and activities include maritmie and heritage displays, kitchen theatre, live music, real ale festival, children's fun plus ccraft and market stalls.

The family music festival based in Topcliffe near Thirsk. This years theme is Time Travel. Johnny Marr headlines the music, the family craft workshops, the snadpit, carboard city, science workshops will all be making a welcome return.

A fun filled event for all the family, with traction engines, steam organs, trade and market stalls, craft fair and fine food hall.
