North Yorkshire Moors Guide

Beautiful moorland, rolling hills, stunning coastline & historic sites are all parts of the North Yorkshire Moors.  The Moors bus and North Yorkshire Moors railway provide great transport links through some of the countries remotest areas.  The Coast To coast walk and Cleveland way both run through the area but there are walks and hikes suitable for all abilities as well as an expanding range of cycle routes.  Stately Homes and historic buildings are found throughout the region and include Castle Howard, Duncombe park and Rivaleaux Abbey.

One of the most complete of Englands Abbey ruins, the Abbey is an English Heritage property. The abbey was founded around 1132, it was the first Cistercian Abbey in the North.

Rievaulx Terrace & Temples
Rievaulx Terraces overlook Rievaulx Abbey, (there is no access from between them). There is a temple at either end of the Terrace and a woodland walk.
