Arts Festivals in Yorkshire 2016
18th & 19th February
Coastival is Scarborough's arts and culture festival - with over 100 events across the two days, more than 90 of them FREE!. With music, visual arts, performance, films, workshops, talks and lots of community fun for all ages.
27th May to 10th June
Swaledale Festival is an annual celebration of music and arts in the beautiful landscape of the three northernmost Yorkshire Dales - Swaledale, Wensleydale and Arkengarthdale.
This year, as always, the Swaledale Festival offers an eclectic and inspiring mix of world class classical, folk and jazz music, exceptional young artists, entertaining groups, drama, film, dance, art exhibitions, workshops, talks and guided walks in the beautiful Dales landscape.
Art In The Gardens
2nd & 3rd September
Art in the Gardens is an annual event in a beautiful venue. Sheffield Botanical Gardens are transformed into an art and craft village, where you can wander round and enjoy (and purchase) all the fine exhibits on display. The whole family can enjoy a day out as there are fun activities to encourage children to enjoy ‘art and the environment’.
Great North Art Show
2nd to 24th September
The GREAT NORTH ART SHOW is a vibrant open exhibition established in 2001 to promote the quality and diversity of contemporary art in the Northwith thousands of visitors annually from home and abroad
It is an exciting opportunity to enjoy a broad range of quality art by established and emerging artists, set against the magnificent backdrop of Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire; definitely not to be missed.
Staithes Festival of Arts & Heritage
9th & 10th September
Staithes Festival has established itself as one of the friendliest festival on the coast – a must-go-to event in the regional arts calendar. During the weekend some 100+ cottages in the village become temporary art galleries in a unique selling exhibition. Staithes heritage is also celebrated in fossils, fishing, historic photographs and film shows. There will be live music, busking, workshops, walks, talks and food and drink.

A celebration of the arts, community and the village’s unique history, the festival usually runs over a period of 10 days and attracts more than 30,000 people to enjoy some 100+ events.
