The vikings will be invading York in February half term, the sixties take a turn in whitby and along the way the 1940's return regularly.

Jorvik Viking Festival

20th to 26th February
The Annual Viking Invasion of York, now they come in peace! From lectures and talks to skirmishes and the finale battle, learn about viking lifestyle, interaction with anglo-saxons and skills of the time. Range of events suitable for all ages.

June

Brighouse 1940's Weekend

3rd & 4th June
There is so much going on at the Brighouse 1940s Weekend, from re-enactor displays, vintage and local food and craft market, dancing, singers, vintage and military vehicles, fairground rides and much, much more.

July

Ingleton 1940's Weekend

30th June to 2nd July
The Yorkshire Dales village of Ingleton is transformed into a 1940s village in France – initially occupied by German troops the weekend sees work by the Resistance and liberation by the Allied troops performed by professional re-enactors. There are 40s themed stalls and street games as well as music and dancing at a wide variety of social venues including solo artists in pubs and clubs as well as in our village square.  The centrepiece event being the Saturday night dance held in our Community Centre (ticket only).
In addition we have a number of other attractions including vintage vehicles, static displays (incl replica Spitfire) Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flypast and a Parachute Display from the Royal Logistic Corps Silver Stars.

Festival Of Vintage

23rd & 24th April
Celebrate living from the 1930's to 60's at The Festival of Vintage held at York Racecourse. With live entertainment, collectors corner, Make do and mend inspired area, vintage hair and make up, dancing and much more.

May

Haworth 1940's Weekend

2015 Dates To Be Confirmed
A jam-packed weekend of 1940's nostalgia, with tea dances, vintage vehicles, market, music and swing dancing in the park and an evacuees parade, all for a good cause; the SSAFA Forces Help. This D-Day Landings.

Brighouse 1940's Weekend

Pateley Bridge 1940's Weekend

15th & 16th August
Travel back in time next summer, as Pateley Bridge invites you to join the town in commemorating our role in feeding the nation during WW2. There is a full calendar of  wartime themed events and entertainment planned and expect lots of re-enactors in period costume, as well as vintage vehicles and agricultural displays.
