Lit/Up. is a combination of Beverley Literature Festival and Bridlington Poetry Festival, a celebration of all things literary in the East Riding of Yorkshire. A packed programme of author events, workshops, children’s activities and films await you at this year’s Beverley Literature Festival, hosted a some of the most historic and cultural venues.
Morley Art Festival
23rd Sept to 9th October
Unique events in a rnage of venues across the town, including spoken word, theatre, music, comedy and special events for all ages.
Richmond Books & Boots Festival
24th Sept to 6th Oct
This festival provides the opportunity for a fantastic break; combining day time walks led by knowledgeable guides, with evening talks from popular and emerging authors. You create your own programme; do as little or as much of either or both.
Forest of Light at Bradford City Park
6th to 9th October
Master light artists T.I.L.T return to City Park with an incredible new show designed specifically for City Park’s mirror pool. Expect some beautiful reflections! No less than 59 giant illuminated sculptures create an enchanting atmosphere radiating beautiful iridescent shades of red, green, orange and gold.
Marsden Jazz Festival
7th to 9th October
Founded in 1992, Marsden Jazz Festival is one of the UK’s longest established jazz festivals. The Saturday street parade is always the talking point of the festival weekend and our venues include 13 pubs, clubs and bars, three outdoor stages, two cafes and one former cowshed – meaning you can’t escape the sound of jazz wherever you are in Marsden.

A combination of the Bridlington Poetry Festival and Beverley Literature Festival- Lit Up promises great authors, workshops and readings at awesome venues across East Yorkshire
Ilkley Literature Festival
30th September to 16th October
Dive into 17 exciting days with over 200 events. Guest spekers this year include, Nick Clegg, Simon Armitage, Sir Tony Robinson and Alan Titchmarsh. the extensive programme includes workshops, walks and performances.
6th to 9th October
Oktoberfest Leeds will take place in a spectacular 2,000 capacity German big top tent, which will be transformed into a traditional Oktoberfest arena - hosting various bars and traditional food stalls, and a stage to accommodate the festival’s in house band for the weekend!
7th - 9th October
The Autumn Steam Spectacular will return for 2016 and we are delighted to finally welcome Southern Region Rebuilt ‘Battle of Britain’ class 34053 ‘Sir Keith Park’ to the Railway, courtesy of the Severn Valley Railway and Southern Locomotives Limited. Real ale trains, vintage coaches, Pullman breakfasts, good trains and more.
Off The Shelf
8th to 29th October
The Off the Shelf Festival offers a wide range of events, including poetry, author visits, walks, exhibitions, workshops, & storytelling.There are free events, family events, city centre events & many events in libraries & venues in communities around Sheffield.
Musicport World Music Festival
21st to 23rd October
A programme which includes some of the finest major international acts playing alongside some of the best local and regional acts. It is an inclusive and wide-ranging event that has all the feel of an outdoor summer festival but all indoors under one roof – there’s even an indoor camping option to complete the festival experience.
Halifax Comedy Festival

The Halifax comedy festival is bringing some of the biggest names in comedy to Calderdale, alonside a host of ne and upcoming comedians.
No Gloss Film Festival
22nd & 23rd October
No/Gloss Film Festival is Leeds' independent film festival. The festival showcases up and coming local and international independent film-makers producing some of the most diverse films and the best in underground, independent and unconventional film-making and video production.
