WizardFest is returning to York from 23rd to 25th May 2026, with more magical fun than you can shake a wand at…

Events for 2026 are still to be confirmed, for an idea of what to expect the details below are from the 2025 event. Return soon for updates to the schedule for this year.

Families searched for cats around shop windows, and spelling a magic word to receive their own mini magical cat. A permanent Wizard of York cat was also added to the regular Cat Trail.

Visitors were able to peruse a Magical Night Market in Shambles Market on the Monday evening. Meet majestic birds of prey, face painting, wizard props and more. The free Owl Trail took place in Shambles Market.

Wizards with a sweet tooth can enjoy a chocolate Magic Minster or Mystic Macaron, chocolate shots or the popular Wizard of York Ice-Creams at Loopy Scoops.

The festival will culminated in a fancy dress parade with a contest for Best Dressed Witch or Wizard.
