The much-loved York Ice Trail returns for another spectacular winter weekend on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February 2027, bringing mythical tales and historical figures to life with this year’s theme: Legends Unleashed!
Curated by Make It York and carved by Icebox—the UK and Europe’s leading ice sculpture specialists—this free, family-friendly trail invites visitors to wander through York's historic streets and discover dozens of crystal-clear ice masterpieces inspired by folklore and legend.
From dragons and mythical beasts to legendary historic characters, each sculpture tells its own story scattered outside shops, cafes, and historic landmarks. Along the way, York’s vibrant cafes, pubs, and restaurants offer plenty of cosy spots to warm up and enjoy seasonal treats.

- Legends Unleashed Theme: Intricate ice sculptures depicting famous myths, legendary characters, and historical folklore.
