Hull Fair returns to Walton Street Car Park this autumn, transforming 16 acres of space into one of the largest travelling funfairs in Europe with over 300 rides, games, and food stalls.

Dating back to the 13th century, the annual tradition brings travelling showmen from across the UK to East Yorkshire for an eight-day festival of fairground entertainment, traditional food, and thrill rides.

The fair traditionally opens on the first or second Friday of October and runs for eight operating days, closing on the middle Sunday. For 2026, the fair takes place from Friday 9th October to Saturday 17th October 2026 (closed Sunday 11th October). Entry to the fairground site is free, with rides and games priced individually.

• Thrill Rides & Roller Coasters: Major white-knuckle attractions including giant Ferris wheels, high-speed spinners, drop towers, and traditional ghost trains.
• Family & Children's Rides: Dedicated kiddies' rides, carousel horses, helter-skelters, and classic dodgems.
• Traditional Fairground Games: Hook-a-duck, coconut shies, dart throws, and arcade stalls lining Walton Street.
• Classic Fair Foods: Traditional local specialties including brandy snap, warm pomegranates, nougat, roasted chestnuts, fresh donuts, fish and chips, and candy floss.

Ground entry is completely free. Individual rides, games, and food stalls accept cash and contactless card payments on site.

The main fairground layout along Walton Street and the MKM Stadium car park is hard-standing tarmac with level access throughout.

Visitor Tip

Peak hours are Friday and Saturday evenings from 7:00pm onwards. Visiting on late afternoon weekdays or early Saturday afternoon offers shorter ride queues and easier walking space.

🚆 By Train & Public Transport

Hull Paragon Interchange is roughly a 15-to-20-minute walk from Walton Street. Dedicated Stagecoach and East Yorkshire fair shuttle buses run frequently directly from the interchange to the fairground entrance.

🚗 Driving & Park & Ride

Road closures and resident parking zones are in effect surrounding Walton Street. Visitors driving to Hull are strongly advised to use the Priory Park Park & Ride (HU4 7DY), which operates dedicated non-stop buses directly to the fairground site.
