Dog owners across Yorkshire are invited to a major new canine celebration as York Museum Gardens hosts its first ever city centre dog show on Sunday 20th September 2026 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM!
Hosted in partnership with York Dog Park, this full-day family affair combines fun competition rings judged by Amanda Owen, expert training workshops, agility courses, professional pet photography, and a pop-up shopping village in one of York's most beautiful historic settings.

Presiding over the main competition rings throughout the day is author, TV personality, and famous 'Yorkshire Shepherdess', Amanda Owen:

Amanda Owen will be hosting and judging the six main competition categories across both morning and afternoon sessions. Amanda shared her excitement: "I'm so excited to be judging York Dog Show in York Museum Gardens, I always love to come and meet all the dogs and their owners and look forward to seeing them all on the day!"

The 'Have a Go' Dog Park equipment is open for all-day agility fun. Don't miss the high-speed bale racing competition running between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM!

Browse pop-up artisan stalls packed with dog treats, toys, and accessories, alongside expert tips from veterinary stalls. Professional dog photographers will capture action shots and posed pet portraits set against the historic ruins of St Mary's Abbey. Delicious food and drink vendors will be serving treats for both pets and humans.
