What To Expect

As you wander through the historic streets of Settle, prepare to be "amazed, amused, astounded, and astonished." The festival turns the entire town into an open-air gallery where local residents, schools, and businesses show off their staggering creativity.

You will spot everything from giant animals and historic figures to on-trend famous faces, superheroes, and beloved cartoon characters—all cleverly constructed using pots, saucers, and cable ties. The joy is all in the details, like finding a tiny flowerpot kitten tucked onto a window sill or looking up to see a massive flowerpot astronaut dangling from a building.

The atmosphere in town is incredibly cheerful. Because the displays are scattered across every nook and cranny, exploring the festival doubles as a fantastic, active way to discover Settle’s lovely courtyards, local independent shops, and welcoming cafés.

• Opening Times: There are no fixed opening hours! The displays are out in public view, you can explore at your own pace anytime during daylight hours, being mindful of local residents of course!
• Cost: The festival is completely free to look around. However...
• The Flowerpot Trails & Quizzes: To make sure you don't miss any hidden creations, we highly recommend grabbing a Trail Sheet.
  • Price: £3.00 per trail sheet, or get the full set of three for £7.00.
  • Where to buy: Available locally at Lamberts Newsagents, the Settle Tourist Information Centre, Cottontail Crafts, and other independent businesses in town.
  • Duration: Each trail takes roughly 2 hours to complete.
• Accessibility: The trails are designed to be accessible and are suitable for both pushchairs and wheelchair users, though be aware that Settle has a few naturally steep slopes to navigate.

Getting There

By Road 🚗

Settle is located just off the A65, roughly 30 minutes from Skipton and an hour from Leeds or Bradford.

• Parking: There are three main pay-and-display car parks right in the town center: Whitefriars Car Park, Greenfoot Car Park, and Ashfield Car Park. Spaces can fill up quickly on sunny weekend afternoons, so arriving early is always a smart move!

Make your day out even more memorable by arriving on the historic Leeds–Settle–Carlisle line. Settle Railway Station is centrally located and is just a gentle 15-minute stroll right into the main Market Place where the festival trail begins.
