The Watchers of York public art trail is drawing to a close across the city centre, with all 12 sculptures soon bringing their summer tour to an end before heading to a dedicated indoor finale.

Produced by Make It York in collaboration with York Minster, the trail features giant sculptures inspired by the historic stone grotesques carved into the Minster walls. After spending the summer across streets, gardens, and riverbanks, the sculptures will be collected and displayed together in one location for a limited 11-day exhibition.

What's Happening 🎨

• Outdoor City Trail (Ends 31st August 2026): The 12 sculptures remain accessible across public sites through the end of August. Printed trail maps are available from the Visit York Visitor Information Centre at 28 Back Swinegate.
• The Chapter House Exhibition (3rd – 13th September 2026): View the complete set of sculptures surrounded by medieval stained glass and Gothic architecture inside York Minster.
• Charity Fundraising: Proceeds from the ongoing sculpture auction go towards supporting local cultural and charitable causes.
